Gavin McMillan is a landscape architect and principal of Hargreaves Associates. Gavin started out as a surveyor, nurseryman and contractor over 30 years ago before working on the design of the 1988 World’s Fair, the 2000 and 2012 Olympic Games. His particular area of expertise is in transforming challenging sites into valued cultural and ecological places in such cities such as London, Louisville, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville, Sydney, Brisbane and Miami Beach. His award winning work has led him to projects around the globe, contributing articles in Urban Land Institute and Earth Pledge Foundation publications, speaking on landscape and urban design issues, judging excellence in development awards and instructing at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design landscape studio.
