Philip Silva

Co-Founder and Co-Director of TreeKIT, a project of the Open Space Institute (Brooklyn, NY), an initiative to map, measure and manage New York City’s urban forest with citizen scientists.

Mr. Silva is an environmental professional living and working in the New York City Metropolitan Area.  He is also an adjunct faculty member at The New School, teaching courses in urban forestry and environmental history and has worked with some of New York City’s leading environmental advocacy organizations, including Sustainable South Bronx and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
