Our partners and stakeholders told us that maximum online outreach value would come from providing content to existing websites, rather than attempting to drive viewers to a new site. To that end, if you have the technical capability to deploy it, we have created a very simple process for adding content from the Vibrant Communities initiative to your site:
- Create a new directory (or new page on many content management systems) called treesarethekey. You should be able to go to this page by entering (www.yourorganization.org/treesarethekey)
- On the “index” page of your directory (or default page for your content management system), include the following html code in the body of the page (be sure you’re using the “html” or “code” editor, not the “visual” editor; change the parentheses to coding brackets “<>”):
(object data=http://www.treesarethekey.org/widget width=’100%’ height=’1000′)
(embed src=http://www.treesarethekey.org/widget width=’100%’ height=’1000′)
(/embed) Error: Embedded data could not be displayed. (/object)
- Test the content. If it does not work, or returns an error code, contact scott.ward@fifth-estate.com for assistance.
- If you are interested in customizing the content you embedded, please contact scott.ward@fifth-estate.com.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- This will post the content from the page www.treesarethekey.org/widget directly onto your site.
- If you are not sure about whether your site can use this type of content, contact your IT department or Internet Service Provider.
- If you are not familiar with HTML coding, contact your IT department or Internet Service Provider regarding any potential site security concerns.
- If you do not want to use this “embedding” code, simply include a link on your site to “www.treesarethekey.org/widget”
